The sample plan

Here's what a 7 month leave looks like when you're due March 1.

A sample plan for a W-2 employee in California. Your dates will move everything, but the shape stays the same.

  • Early February
    Disability leave begins
About 4 weeks before the due date. PAID
  • March
    Baby arrives, recovery leave runs
6 to 8 weeks after birth. PAID
  • Late April into June
    Paid Family Leave begins
Up to 8 weeks of bonding time. PAID
  • Through September
    Job protection continues
Up to 29 weeks total when Pregnancy Disability Leave and CFRA are stacked in the right order.

Add it up: up to 18 to 20 weeks with a check coming in, inside up to 29 weeks of protected leave. That's roughly 7 months.

The catch is the order. File the wrong claim first and weeks disappear. Your dates, your delivery, and your employer's benefits all change the plan.

That's what the Blueprint is built for. The calendar tool builds this timeline around your due date, and 12 months of office hours means a real person checks your plan before you file anything.

Sample plan for illustration. Paid weeks and protected weeks depend on your situation. Education, not legal advice.
